Welcoming owners gave us all the local tips for restaurants, spots along the river, etc. They clearly enjoy what they are doing and care about the guest experience. Clean and comfortable rooms. They have thoughtful extras such as bikes, inviting outdoor spaces. Our kids enjoyed the swimming pool. River walks, restaurants all within walking distance. A wonderful, relaxing vacation spot in a beautiful location.

Awesome little spot to stay for the night or more. Walking distance to the river, downtown and the the trailhead. Pool was great when it was above 100 outside. Sauna, water bottle fountain, bike wash and storage, parking right out front, what more can be said. Perfect little inn. Management was super friendly and the rooms were very cozy and very clean. Will definitely be staying here again!

The property is in great shape and the staff is extremely kind and helpful. The property is covered in walnut trees, pine trees, and all kinds of beautiful flowers. Our cottage (#14) was very spacious, with two bedrooms, jack and jill bath, living room, and a full kitchen. To our surprise, there was even a Tesla Destination Charger right in front of place - a most welcome surprise!
The young lady working there told me they had taken over a couple years ago and were really working to improve the condition of the place - and it shows! There is a pool, sauna, ice machine, and large outdoor space with chairs, a fire pit and picnic tables. The river is right across the street and "downtown" is about a 3-minute walk.
I will definitely be coming back to this town and definitely staying here. Amazing place!

Some of the nicest people on planet Earth own this place. Mike and Teresa were absolutely fantastic. Hospitality is top-notch. We really enjoyed the pool, the sauna, and the bikes they had available to use. Thank you again for the great stay!!!

Had a really great stay here. I highly recommend if you’re trying to find a place. You can get all your needs met. There’s good WiFi, Tesla charging, a nice deep pool, a sauna, a shower for people who need to clean up after they have checked out, there’s a hose in the back to clean your bikes, and lawn games.

This was my first time visiting the Downieville River Inn & Resort and it won't be my last! The family running the inn is the sweetest and really seem to genuinely love what they do and love sharing their home with others. I was there for 4th of July and even though things were busy you could tell everyone was having a blast! Thank you Madeline, Mike, and Teresa for such wonderful hospitality.

We were delighted with our stay and the hospitality from management. The perfect location; just a short walk over the bridge to town. Our room was cozy, charming and clean with all the necessary amenities. We really felt warmed and welcomed by the management and staff and are looking forward to our next stay. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a delightful stay in Downieville.

I absolutely love staying here! The owners are so kind and very helpful. They make you feel right at home. The rooms are very well kept, clean, and very cozy. They have a pool for summertime visits and a sauna to warm up in when it's cold! They are even dog friendly which is a huge plus for us. I highly recommend It's our favorite place to go and stay!

My second time was just as great as the first stay with the previous owners. My room was remodeled, very comfortable and clean, the new owners and management staff are fantastic people and are willing to go the extra mile to help you out. I love the small town, close knit community feeling, I miss it. Do not hesitate to stay here and enjoy the river and incredible views.

Stayed a weekend here with my husband and two babies and it was the best family vacation we've been on! The inn was so cute and was an all around great place to stay. The location was great, just across a bridge from town, where there is a pizza place, bar, market, etc. We usually vacation in Tahoe but this was a much more enjoyable stay. It was a quiet getaway, not tons of people in town, but still plenty to do. Definitely will be returning and recommending to friends and family!

What a GEM! We stayed here a couple weekends ago during a Sierra getaway. Recommended by friends, even though I had never heard of this tiny little old town. What a cool place and a nice surprise. The Inn is quaint and picturesque. Rooms were clean, comfortable and simple. But I cant say it enough, the setting is amazing. Right on a rushing beautiful river. Like another world. Exactly what we needed to relax. The town has like only 2 streets, fun to explore the little shops. We ordered a pizza from across the little one lane bridge, sat on the banks of the river. We are making plans to go back later this summer. I highly recommend!!!

Owners are hosts not owners. Warm and friendly feeling,
